Dr. Suryakanta Nayak
Principal Researcher Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur Jharkhand, India E-mail: suryakanta.iitkgp@gmail.com ORCID ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5189-5519 Dr. Suryakanta Nayak was born in Cuttack, Odisha, India. He completed his school and intermediate from his hometown (Jagatsinghpur, Odisha) and studied B.Sc. in Ravenshaw Autonomous College, which is now known as Ravenshaw University situated on the bank of river Mahanadi, Cuttack, Odisha. Then, he did his M.Sc. in Chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad.
He received his PhD degree from the first IIT and prestigious institute of India, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India under the supervision of Prof. Dipak Khastgir and Prof. Tapan Kumar Chaki in 2015. Now, he is working as a Principal Researcher at R & D, Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, India. Prior to his current position, he worked as a Research Fellow with Prof. Aaron Voon-Yew Thean Link 1, Link 2 (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Electrical & Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS). He worked in Prof. Thean's research group from October 2016 to June 2020. During the above time, he led three research projects in Prof. Thean's research group. He also served as a chemical safety leader in the group. He also mentored three final year B.Tech projects with Prof. Aaron Thean. In NUS, he also worked with A/Prof. Soo Jin Adrian Koh (Link), Mechanical Engineering, National University of Singapore (October 2014 to September 2016) as a Research Fellow. He has two years of pre-PhD industrial research/job experience from R & D, Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur, India. He has more than 20 international referred journal publications, 03 Indian patent (1 Granted, 2 submitted/filed), 04 International/US patents, 02 books, 04 book chapters, 1 news letter, and more than 20 conference papers to his credit.
